We Wish You a Merry Christmas

Sorry for the gratuitous nose-picking--we wanted to add a comedy act to the movie.  To be clear, he wasn't picking his nose the whole time . . .

This one was especially for my mom.  According to family legend, I lifted my dress during the Primary Program when I was three years old.  It's karma.

William's First Disneyland Trip

This was how he experienced most of Disneyland:

Not much fun for him, but he made it enjoyable for the rest of us!  At least he was awake for his first "Small World":

It's still as wonderful for the rest of us, even after twenty-something trips.

Poor Tiki/Bad Tiki

Poor Tiki
She got spayed.  This was what she looked like for 10 days:
It was so pathetic.

Bad Tiki
Ever since her cone came off on Friday, she's chewed up three ornaments, including the priceless one with Robert's geeky (I say that lovingly) 12-year old picture on it.  All ornaments have now been moved up beyond Tiki's reach.

Luckily she's so darn cute that I don't stay mad too long.

By the way, Robert's not at all sad about losing the ornament.

William at Six Weeks

William had his six-week appointment today.

Height = 23 1/2 in.
Weight = 12 lbs.
Head circumference = 40 1/2 cm.

All of his numbers are somewhere in the 80th percentile.

His pediatrician wanted to do a six-week appointment instead of eight-week because she wanted to get a head start on his pertussis vaccine since the CDC declared a whooping cough epidemic in the Bay Area.  I still can't stand the look of dismay and distrust on my newborn's face when they get their first shots, although at least I don't cry anymore.  And I'm even more grateful that William takes a pacifier because that made soothing him so much easier.

His heart murmur did turn out to be innocent.  She was impressed with his head strength (he's been trying since day one) and he even smiled at her (before shots), which "made her day."
William has the cutest half-smile.  You may sometimes wonder if he is actually smiling, but then the dimple shows up and you know.  I love how he'll just gaze at you and then squirm his whole body as he tries to grunt out a sound.  It's these small interactions that make the first six weeks so worth it.

One Month William

I am lucky to have a friend that has a photography hobby.  It's so much fun when you can relax and just see what comes.  We got a lot of great photos, but I love this one:
 This, of course, is Robert's favorite:
Here's a few more:

Doing Better

We actually got the tree up before Christmas.

Much better than Halloween when we carved pumpkins the day after!
