Excuse me

I've been a slacker on my blog. Here's why:
I've been a painting fool these last few months. I've done the guest bedroom and bath (very light blue and green), master bedroom and bath (I got braver and did a darker blue and green, but not too dark!), two kids rooms (one space theme and the other sooooo princessy). And it may look like the color covering the roller and my hands isn't a color, but I promise it is:

This is the color for the living spaces of the house. It's a very open floor plan, and I had so many colors that I needed to match that I didn't get super bold, but I have thrown in a few chocolate brown accent walls. So far I've done the entryway, part of the staircase, and the family room. I still have a lot of work to do, but I go in spurts. The kids have two weeks of school off in a few weeks, so I'll probably go crazy then.

I have a few details on the kids rooms that need to get finished, then I'll get some pictures on here.

Necessity

On one of my painting days we had to take down the west-facing blinds. Danielle complained to me that the sun was too bright and she couldn't see the computer. I told her to move. She had another idea:
She gets points for creativity!

Happy Valentine's Day

Or as Danielle's been saying, "Valtimes Day".
This year I gave each kid their own balloon. Danielle and Jarrett have been having a great time with theirs, but Liesl's is causing her to freak out. She's so afraid that it's going to float away that she has a death grip on it (even though there's a weight holding it down). If anyone comes close to it, she throws a foot-stamping, screaming fit. She's being completely irrational about it, but at least this time it makes us laugh.
