A few days ago my mom and I took the kids to Disneyland. This is the first time I've taken all three kids without Robert, and it opened my eyes to how much he helps to round up the kids.
Despite the crowds, we had a great time and were worn out when we left. When we were getting off the tram at the parking garage, I was having a difficult time getting both the stroller and kids down, so a nice gentleman came up and helped me with the stroller. All of a sudden Danielle said "Daddy! When did you get here?" I guess he may have looked a little like Daddy, but I think we're all just used to Daddy being our hero. Needless to say Danielle was embarrassed when she realized her mix-up, but it is a testament to how much Daddy help us and others.

Stars
Last week Robert took Danielle to a Valentine's Social at her school for a Daddy-Daughter date. Afterward, as they were driving home, Danielle said "Daddy, do you know why I like to look at the stars?"
"Why Danielle?"
"Because it reminds me of when I was with Heavenly Father and Jesus." And then she said "I can't wait to go back."
It gives me mixed feelings when she says that she wants to go back to Heavenly Father (this wasn't the first time.) I'm glad that she loves her Heavenly Father that much, and I'm grateful to know that we will be together for the eternities, but I hope beyond hope we have a long time together here on earth too.

He's Serious Now
Ever since the day of the ultrasound that told us Danielle would be a girl, Robert has talked about getting a gun to scare the boys away. I've always figured it was braggadocio, but he may be getting a little more serious now.
This morning started just like any morning. Robert took Danielle to school like he always does (thankfully!), and I put Liesl in the bathtub. As I was in the bathroom with her, I heard Robert come through the door and march down the hallway to us. He was flustered as he told me about pushing Danielle on the swings, and the girl next to her telling her mom, "Look, there's J.J.'s girlfriend!" (J.J. is a boy in our church that Danielle has known since they were both babies. He's in the class next to Danielle at school, and they sometimes play together.) I couldn't understand why he was so upset, so I just laughed.
Robert eventually chilled a little, but at the end of our discussion, he reaffirmed his intent to buy a gun.
